User-friendly chip and board to replace entire range

Mini-printer specialist, Able Systems, has launched a new driver chip and interface board for use with a range of printing mechanisms. The new single chip, A104C, replaces the outgoing Intel chip set used previously. Similarly, the A104B, a single interface board, performs the same functions formerly managed by several boards.

Able Systems' A104C will take the place of as many as twenty different versions. As well as being used in Able Systems' own panel mounting printers, the A104C will have the capability to drive the full range of Epson mini-impact mechanisms, from the sixteen column version M150, through the M160 family to the forty column version, the M170.
