New developments customise portable mini-printer

Following the successful launch of its portable Ap860-B mini-printer, Able Systems has continually monitored customer responses and requirements. This has lead to the development of several new features on the Ap860-B unit, each customising the printer for a specific application. Able Systems is now offering four application specific versions of the product.

For retail packaging applications, a model of the high speed Ap860-B printer has been developed for producing barcodes using the standard Epson ESC/POSTM . The encoding of the barcodes is performed internally within the printer. Users can specify the width and height of the barcodes with both default and custom settings available.

Also offered is a version suitable for use with a Windows '95TM  or '98TM Driver which can be obtained direct from Able Systems. This will enable the printer to be used more easily.

Another unit has been developed with a continuous charging mode for operation when connected via the charger to an AC mains supply.

Finally for USA medical applications, a version of the unit is available with an orange and green bi-coloured LED status indicator.
