Able Systems has introduced a new kiosk printer, the KC-1800, with a presenter system that allows the item being printed to be completely printed before delivery to the user. This feature dramatically reduces call outs for paper jams, as well as providing more security during the transaction. In addition, if the user does not take the printed item, it can be retracted back into the printer for later disposal. The printer is fully modular with printer engine, control board and paper holder all slotting simply but rigidly together in a variety of seven configurations to suit the application. The paper holder allows for 80mm wide six or eight-inch paper rolls. A non-presenter version of the new printer is also available for space limited applications, this being fitted with the standard automatic cutter. Featuring a high speed, low noise, 80mm/sec high quality thermal mechanism, the KC-1800 has automatic paper loading and near end of roll sensor. It prints 24, 32, 48 and 64 characters per line from the alpha numeric CP850, CP858, CP 860 and CP437 character sets. Barcode types: UPC-A, UPC-E, EAN13, EAN8, CODE 39, ITF, CODABAR, CODE 93, CODE 128, ISBN, MSI, PLESSEY, PDF-417 are also supported. Typical applications for the KC-1800 include: ATMs and banking applications, retail barcode/receipt/coupon printers, car rental, gaming terminals, information kiosks, parking systems, and vending machines. Parallel, Serial and USB options are available for interface to the host PC as well as Windows 98, Me, NT, 2000 and XP drivers and Advanced Status API (Application Protocol Interface, a 32-bit Windows DLL), with downloadable firmware. The printer also includes a 10K bytes data buffer. Dimensions with the presenter are 139 x 133 x 235mm and weight is 1.75kg. |
