	High speed kiosk printer features high reliability and reduced maintenance at lower cost.
Able Systems has introduced a new highly reliable EU-T300 kiosk printer series providing high-speed printing to 150 mm/s and an increased life of 15M lines. It also has a reduced price compared to previous models. The printers, manufactured by Epson, accept large paper roll diameters to 152 mm, maximising the intervals between maintenance visits. Maintenance time is minimised by a platen open mechanism enabling easy handling of paper loading, paper jam removal, print head cleaning and, due to the open mechanism of the printer installation plate, easy paper exchange. The MCBF (mean cycle between failure) for the EU-T300 series is 37 million lines. The printers are very flexible, supporting paper widths from 57.5 to 82.5mm and paper thickness from 56 to 183 µm. The selectable interface can be serial RS232, parallel IEEE 1284 or USB 1.1 and uses a command protocol based on the ESC/POS® standard. Fence and ladder bar codes of types UPC-A, UPC-E, JAN(EAN)13, JAN(EAN)8, CODE39, ITF, CODABAR, CODE93 and CODE128, graphics and 2D code (PDF417) can be printed. Black mark detection is also supported. Different versions of the printer can be ordered to accommodate different paper widths (from 58mm to 82mm) and paper roll sizes of 100mm (4 in.) or 152mm (6 in.) Typical applications for the EU-T300 series include: ATMs and banking applications, retail barcode/coupon/receipt printers, car rental, gaming terminals, information kiosks, parking systems and vending machines.
