Able Systems has introduced the first panel mounting printer that offers the APS patented easy front loading paper mechanism, allowing the paper roll to be easily and quickly replaced. The Ap1200 panel mounting printer is compatible with the industry standard 109mm x 62mm cut-out and includes a state of the art thermal mechanism for near silent, high resolution printing at up to 90mm/sec. The patented loading mechanism enables a 3-step refilling procedure. By unclipping a catch, the 2-piece access door opens, enabling the paper roll to be placed into the holder. On closing the access door, the printer is ready for operation without any need to feed the paper through a printer mechanism or slot. The front panel also includes out of paper and door open indicators. Operating voltage is a nominal 7.5V, while the host interface is serial RS232, operating up to 38400 baud. The printer also includes a 20K bytes data buffer. The compact Ap1200 weighs just 315 grams with a full paper roll, and requires a depth of 92mm behind the panel. The overall dimensions are 115mm width x 63mm height x 103mm depth. The default character set is IBM® 224, code page 437, which includes the euro currency character. Individual country character sets can be chosen by software selection. Default character size is 1.25 x 3.00mm, and the printer?s 8 dots per mm resolution delivers high text clarity for applications such as fire and security panels, autoclaves, ATE mobile messaging systems, taxi meters, timing and telemetry systems and industrial data logging equipment.
