Good Looks, Reliability and Technical Support make Able the Obvious Choice for Healthcare

27th April 2017

Lynton Lasers is the UK’s premier supplier of aesthetic technology to private clinics and the NHS. Since 1994, the business has provided exceptional, medical grade equipment in the areas of Laser, IPL and aesthetic technology.

The Challenge

The design team at Lynton Lasers required a panel mount printer with a low profile that could neatly fit into the front panel of its flagship system, the Lumina® Laser and IPL platform. The desired printer would combine high print quality with reliability and an appealing design, ideally colour matching the white laser unit.

The Product

The Lumina® Laser and IPL platform treats over 24 different aesthetic concerns, including hair removal, tattoo removal, anti-ageing and skin resurfacing.

Combining five different market-leading technologies into one stand-alone platform, the device allows users to upgrade ‘as they go’ to meet the needs of their growing practices.

The system incorporates an integrated treatment summary printer for clinicians to print out a complete list of patient treatments and to review how the course of treatments is progressing. Service engineers can also use the printer to create traceable records for key system and service parameters, to meet Lynton Lasers’ compliance requirements as a manufacturer of medical systems and a service support provider.

The Able Systems Solution

The AP1400, from Able Systems, is a highly reliable panel mount printer with a low profile that neatly fits into the front panel of the unit. With front paper loading and an easy-to-use lid opening system, it also minimises maintenance time for the user.

When it comes to compatibility, the economical unit packs a massive 10k byte buffer for best ever host compatibility and the Able Systems design team created a white printer unit to exactly match the host unit from Lynton Lasers.

Customer feedback

Dr James Sanders, Development Engineer for Lynton Lasers, said: “After testing several printers, we found that the Ap1400 from Able Systems integrated very quickly with our new Lumina, printing the required information correctly. This integration was made very easy due to the information supplied by Able – its technical support is some of the best we have experienced.

“Coupled with good-looking design, which matched our desired colour scheme, a reliable printing mechanism and low failure rate, it became the obvious choice. It also had two fixing mechanisms so gave us flexibility in the design.”
